The playground has no shade, so sun protection is essential on warm days.

Adventure, play, and room to explore
Centennial Park is a bright, open space tucked behind the Pioneer Recreation Centre, offering a relaxed mix of play, movement, and nature. With a small pump track, a volleyball net set over a large sandpit, a wide grassy field, and a nearby river walk, it’s a great option for families who want room to move and time outdoors. Bring bikes, sand toys, and sunhats—there’s plenty to explore and enjoy.

Good to know
Before you go.
Dogs are welcome but must stay at least one metre from the playground equipment.
There are no toilets in the park itself, but full facilities are available just next door at the Pioneer Recreation Centre.
Parking is available in the large shared car park outside the recreation centre.
Inside you’ll find toilets with a baby change table, vending machines, and a café that includes a small indoor play space for younger children.
