Westlake Reserve Walk is an easy, flat loop around a peaceful lake filled with ducks, swans, and geese. With a playground nearby, wide paths, and plenty of places to stop and take in the view, it’s a low-effort, family-friendly spot for strolling, scooting, or riding.

Follow the route.

Use these route notes alongside signs and conditions on the day.

Main lake loop · 10–20 minutes
Follow the completely flat path around the main lake. It works well for prams, bikes and scooters, with benches and a wooden viewing platform over the water.
Optional extensions
Halfway around, add the five-minute loop around the smaller lake. A path around the sports field adds roughly another 10 minutes.
Along the water
Look for ducks, geese, swans and occasional eels. Take care near the deep water’s edge and where dogs and cyclists share the path.
Finish
The loops return to the playground area, where toilets, a drinking fountain and a rubbish bin are located.
