Walk guide
Follow the route.
Use these route notes alongside signs and conditions on the day.
Leave the main signed route
When the track opens out, turn right toward the Templars Island trail—not the walkers track on the left—and follow the upper path between the forest and golf course.
At Coringa Loop
When you reach the Coringa Loop sign, turn right instead of entering the loop. Continue along the shared walking-and-biking track between the golf course and paddock.
Return through the forest
At the end, join the forest walkers track on the right and follow it through the trees back to the car park. The full alternative loop takes about one hour.
Surface and awareness
The route is mostly pram-friendly but bumpy and stony in places, with no rest stops once underway. Bike trails cross the walking route occasionally, so watch for cyclists; avoid touching wild toadstools.
At the finish
The route returns to the picnic area and nearby pump track. This walk best suits confident walkers aged five and over, or younger children in a front pack or sturdy pram.
