Below you will find our frequently asked questions and a contact form if you want to book in or would like some more information.
We have 5 escape rooms and we recommend up to 6 players per room. We can accommodate up to 30 players at one time. If your number is larger than this we suggest booking out two time slots and splitting your group in half.
Cost is dependent on team size. Teams of 2 - 4 are $25 per person. Teams of 5 - 6 are $22 per person. If your group is larger than 18 people and comes through in one time slot we can offer you a group price of $20 per person.
9:30am, 11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm, 3:30pm, 5:15pm, 7:00pm, 8:30pm.Please note these times are different from our usual times throughout the year and are valid from the 24th of November until the 24th of December.
Our average escape times are around 60 minutes for all of our rooms. All up the event can take 80 minutes as there is a safety briefing before and a photo afterwards. For example, if you booked a 3:30pm escape with us you will be leaving here around 4:45pm.
Sorry we do not allow food or drink to be consumed in our reception area. We also recommend limiting alcohol consumption beforehand as it can impair your escaping abilities. We have the right to refuse anyone who is intoxicated.
We are located very close to the city, at the end of Bealey Ave on Churchill Street. There are many places to eat and drink in the city. We are however very close to the Bealey Ale House and Pomeroy's. We work closely with the Bealey Ale House and they can often organise a function space or fenced off area for our customers if you mention you're coming here.
We ask that teams arrive just 10 to 15 minutes before their booking. If you arrive too early we may still have our previous customers escaping and there's a chance they could let something secret slip! It does help us to run on time if you have teams sorted with a team name.
Yes, we are located on the ground floor. All our rooms are wheelchair accessible except for the Mysterious Cabin.
Not at all! We have four different themes, so hopefully there's a room they haven't escaped from before.
Make sure to bring reading glasses if you need them. Normal clothing is fine and footwear must be worn at all times.
No, we do not lock the doors behind so you can leave in the case of an emergency or if you need the toilet. If some of your team are claustrophobic, let them know that the rooms are are similar size to an office just with no windows.
Yes. We require a 40% deposit of the total cost to be paid to confirm your booking. If it is easier you can pay for the full amount when you book in. The remaining amount must be paid on the day, if not paid earlier. We accept Visa, Mastercard and cash in store and bank transfers need to be made in advance. We also offer payment via invoice.
December is the busiest time of the year for us so it's important to book as early as possible so you don't miss out on your preferred date and time.
If you cancel a Christmas Booking at any time earlier than one 1 month before commencement of the Services we will refund the deposit to you less any actual and reasonable costs and expenses incurred by us. If you give less than one 1 months’ notice of cancellation or alteration of a Christmas Booking, you shall not be entitled to any refund of the deposit and any refund of additional amounts paid by you shall only be made if we consider in our absolute and sole discretion that such refund is reasonable in the circumstances.Our Terms and Conditions can be found here: https://escapeartists.nz/terms/
